Power cuts

More light, a sixth of the power.

An old 60W bulb gives about 800 lumens. A 9W I-VOLT bulb gives 1,080 to 1,170. On an inverter, every watt you save is backup you keep: the same battery runs LED lights several times longer.

Choosing

Three things to check.

Brightness, the base and the power supply. Get these right and the bulb fits and does the job.

Lumens, not watts

Watts are the power a bulb uses; lumens are the light it gives. Replacing an old 60W bulb? Look for 800 lumens or more.

B22 or E27

B22 pushes in and twists, on two side pins. E27 screws in. Check your holder: cool daylight comes in both, 12V DC in E27.

Mains or 12V DC

AC bulbs run on mains power or through an inverter. 12V DC bulbs connect straight to a 12V battery or solar home system.

Questions

Questions people ask.

Warm white or cool daylight: which should I choose?

Warm white (3000K) is a soft, yellow light, good for bedrooms and living rooms. Cool daylight (6500K) is crisp and bright, good for kitchens, study tables, shops and offices. Use the two buttons at the top of this page to see the difference.

Which I-VOLT bulb replaces an old 60W bulb?

An old 60W bulb gives about 800 lumens, so look for 800 lumens or more. The 9W I-VOLT bulbs give 1,080 to 1,170 lumens, and the 7W warm white (910 lm) and the 7W cool daylight B22 (840 lm) already clear it.

Is my holder B22 or E27?

B22 is the push-and-twist base with two pins on its sides. E27 is the screw base. Check your old bulb or holder before you buy. The cool daylight bulbs come in both, and the 12V DC bulbs are E27.

Do LED bulbs work on an inverter?

Yes. Our AC bulbs run on mains power or through an inverter, and use a fraction of the power of old bulbs, so your battery lasts longer in a power cut. Work out your backup with the backup calculator.

What are the 12V DC bulbs for?

Solar home systems and battery lighting. They connect straight to a 12V battery, with no inverter in between, so no power is lost converting it. Pair them with a Solar Tubular battery.

How long do I-VOLT bulbs last?

ultraestore lists a rated life of up to 40,000 hours for the warm white range and the 20W cool daylight, and up to 50,000 hours for the 30W E27. Rated life is measured in test conditions; heat and voltage swings shorten it.

What warranty do I get?

ultraestore lists the warranty model by model: 1 year on the 3, 5, 7, 9 and 12W warm white and the 20W cool daylight; 2 years on the 5, 7, 9, 12, 15, 40 and 50W cool daylight and the 5W 12V DC. Each card above shows its bulb's warranty where the store lists one. Keep your bill, and for a claim call an ULTRA showroom or message us on WhatsApp.
