E-rickshaw
On the road all day, on charge all night.
An e-rickshaw drains its batteries deep every day and charges them every night. That is deep-cycle work, the job tubular plates are built for.
- 01Charge fully every nightA battery left part-charged day after day wears out sooner.
- 02One model in the setUse the same model and age for every battery in the set, and replace the set together.
- 03Distilled water onlyIf the batteries have top-up caps, check the level every month or two.
Check your battery
What the voltage tells you.
A multimeter tells you how charged a 12V battery is. Read it when the battery has rested, not straight after driving or charging.
| Resting voltage | Charge | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| 12.65 V | 100% | Fully charged |
| 12.45 V | 75% | Fine |
| 12.24 V | 50% | Recharge soon |
| 12.06 V | 25% | Recharge now |
| 11.89 V | 0% | Flat: charge it straight away |
- 01Let it restLeave the vehicle off and the battery unused for a day. The standard reading is taken after 24 hours at rest.
- 02Set the meterTurn a multimeter to DC volts, on the 20V range.
- 03Read itRed probe on the + terminal, black on −. Find the reading in the chart.
Values for a 12V lead-acid starter battery at about 26°C after 24 hours at rest: Battery University BU-903, from the BCI standard.
Questions
Questions people ask.
Which battery fits my car?
Match the battery you have now: the same Ah or the next size up, the same terminal layout (which side the + terminal is on) and a box that fits the tray. All three are on the old battery's label and in your vehicle's manual. Not sure? Send a photo of the old battery's label on WhatsApp, or bring it to an ULTRA showroom.
How do I check if my battery is charged?
Leave the vehicle off and the battery unused for a day, then read it with a multimeter on DC volts. 12.65 V is fully charged, 12.24 V about half, and 11.89 V or less is flat. The full chart is above.
How long does a car battery last?
ultraestore lists a service life of up to 4–5 years with proper maintenance for the 75Ah. How it is used and looked after makes the difference: a battery left flat, or with loose, corroded terminals, wears out sooner.
How do I make it last?
Keep the terminals clean and tight, check the water level every month or two if it has top-up caps (distilled water only), and don't leave it flat. If the vehicle will stand for weeks, keep the battery charged.
What is the E-Rickshaw battery for?
Electric rickshaws, which drain their batteries on the road all day and charge them every night. Tubular plates are built for that deep daily cycle. Use the same model for every battery in the set, and replace the set together.
What warranty do I get?
ultraestore lists 36 months* on the 65 and 110Ah; 1 year on the 85Ah. The asterisk means conditions apply. Ask us about the 75Ah and the 185Ah E-Rickshaw. Keep your bill, and for a claim call an ULTRA showroom or message us on WhatsApp.
